My life turns around music and art.

Hello my name is Esmeralda Lastra, my mothers maiden name is Cortes which is why I want to incorporate that into my logo. I am 24 years old.

I was born in Norristown PA and raised in Lansdale PA. I am the middle child and only daughter of Mexican immigrants, Ruth a psychologist, family engagement worker for Headstart and Juan Lastra a professional painter and also singer/guitarist. 

I grew up learning in the North Penn School District in Lansdale PA, where I learned violin at the age of 8-18 and then I joined ARCONET.org  to study with many private music teachers where I studied violin, voice and piano. I also went to janelopotendance.com in Lansdale where I learned many different styles of dance from the ages of 4-18. 

I was active in chamber strings ensembles and in Montgomery county honors orchestra. As well as Artco next choir, and Montgomery Community College mc3.edu  choir. 

I got my Music associates degree at MCCC and I currently am a student at Temple University in Philadelphia temple.edu studying music education. 

I work at Lansdale PA at Jefferson Hospital  as a radiology patient care associate/ image librarian, I also work for a huff and lukjer funeral home as a secretary, personal assistant and a funeral assistant in Lansdale. 

I'm a violinist and singer for mariachi America in New Castle Delaware and for Saint Stanislaus Hispanic band in Lansdale  ststanislaus.com as a volunteer. I am also teaching violin and voice .

I am a fan of the arts, creativity and self expression. I enjoy working, teaching, helping others and having a positive impact in my community. 

My hobbies include makeup, traveling, cooking, volunteering, playing instruments, listening to music, YouTube, dancing, learning, drawing, painting, sewing, writing, singing, shopping, collecting vintage things, swimming, photography, design, walking, going to the gym, thrifting, jewelry making, watching shows/movies/old film/youtube, video and photo editing and spending time with my partner and our families and friends.
